DESCRIPTION
The Northampton Center for the Arts (NCFA) is looking for two self-motivated, creative, organized interns to assist with all aspects of its interdisciplinary summer programming for youth, ArtPlay. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in more than one creative form (dance/movement, theatre, music, visual art, writing), organizational or administrative experience, and be enthusiastic about working with children.
Eligible candidates must be available late-May through early August, and MUST be available and on-site Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, for the weeks of June 23-August 1, 2025. Interns may work approximately 2-5 hours/week when programming is not running; those hours are flexible and some can be done remotely.
The benefits to the intern include working with a team of teaching artists who are actively involved in the local community and who are deeply committed to supporting young people in viewing themselves as fundamentally creative people. Opportunity exists for the intern to develop their own classes/activities and to take on leadership roles within the program. NCFA is looking for an intern who is excited about the artistic and administrative skills they have, and is looking to build on those skills in a collaborative, community-oriented environment.
