The Dance Generators annual spring concert features work by company members Alisa Greenbacher, Susan Waltner, and Kristin Horrigan and improvisation directed by guest artist Rose Oceania.
This intergenerational company consists of dancers in their teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. Company members come together through a shared commitment to expressive movement and innovative art making. Their work challenges audiences’ ideas about dance and shatters stereotypes about aging.
The dancers speak honestly with their bodies and their voices. This season’s new pieces explore themes such as perspectives on leaving and being left behind, being haunted by secrets from one’s past, the territoriality of people in a public environment, and fraternity and initiation amongst men.
Founded in 1997 by Amie Dowling, the Dance Generators have toured widely throughout New England, and they continue to appear regularly at local theaters, schools, senior homes, community centers, and colleges.
Tickets may be purchased at the door or reserved in advance. For reservations, call the Center at (413) 584-7327 or email us.
