Join jazz pianist and composer Miro Sprague for a solo farewell concert in the ballroom. A Valley native who is admired for his inspired creativity and dynamic performance style, Miro began performing at the age of 14 and has since been wowing audiences everywhere with his unique take on modern jazz. At the end of August, he's off to the Thelonious Monk Institute, a prestigious jazz masters program at UCLA directed by the legendary Herbie Hancock.
“I rarely do solo concerts,” says Sprague, “but I always enjoy the challenge and freedom they present. I am thrilled to have one more opportunity to share my music with my local fans in the beautiful setting of the Center for the Arts.”
Miro heads his own trio and has worked with renowned musicians including Reggie Workman, Rashied Ali, Matt Wilson, Sheila Jordan, Charles Neville and Evelyn Harris. He is a graduate of Manhattan School of Music.
